Jacob Bloch's love for music and dance led him to the local ballet schools, and in one of them he saw a young dancer struggling to stay where he was. Jacob promised to do her pointe dance to do, and he did. In 1932, the first Bloch ballet shoes were made in a candle-lit workshop in Sydney, Paddington.
